6.1 - Using Universal Talents

Using Universal Talents

At levels 1, 5, 9, 13, and 17, you can choose an eligible universal talent instead of a talent from your ancestry or versatile heritage.

Universal talents serve three purposes:

  • Support mixed-ancestry concepts without forcing an ill-fitting inherited power.
  • Supply practical movement, training, or resistance that any adventurer might develop.
  • Ensure every milestone has a valid choice even when a campaign restricts a specific ancestry talent.

You cannot choose a talent twice unless it says otherwise. If a talent grants a proficiency you already possess, choose another proficiency of the same kind.

Universal talents are not culture. Describe how the talent manifests through family, physiology, supernatural inheritance, personal adaptation, or a combination of those influences.
