The Guilded Nations (The Defensive Pact) This is a massive international economic and defensive alliance, conceptually similar to NATO or the European Union.

  • Key Members: Harold-Ford (the English equivalent), The Athenium (the Wizard Nation / US equivalent), and Arfrodir (the French equivalent).

  • Headquarters: The organization maintains a dual-capital system to balance power, operating out of both Harold-Ford and Delphi (within The Athenium).

  • Intervention Trigger: The pact is fundamentally an economic trading system, but a formal declaration of war against any member triggers a mutual defense clause.

  • Response Time: There is no single unified fleet. If a member calls for aid, neighboring nations can dispatch a small rapid-response force in less than a day, but mobilizing a massive, war-winning fleet will take significant time.

  • Bec's View: The Guilded Nations formed primarily to contain the historical expansion of the Beccin Empire. In this post-WWI era climate, Bec openly mocks the pact as bureaucratic cowardice, though they pretend to cooperate on the diplomatic stage.

Confederacy of Half Height (CHH) A small island nation protected by the Guilded Nations. It is a fragile, hyper-capitalist state currently fracturing under the weight of a manufactured civil war between the wealthy elites and the exploited working class.

  • The Economic Purpose: CHH exists almost entirely as a geopolitical loophole. They offer drastically lower import tariffs and zero trade embargoes compared to the southern mainland. They are the "Taiwan / Hong Kong" of this world—a vital, grey-market transit hub where rival empires can secretly trade resources without breaking their own sanctions.

  • Economy: CHH produces very little of its own goods; its "resource" is unregulated financial access and laundering. Their economy is completely tethered to and dependent on the Wolgari Trading Company.

  • The Capital City: A sprawling, heavily industrialized port.

  • City Layout (Idea: The Vertical Divide): The city physically represents the civil war. The "Upper Heights" are built into the cliffside—a pristine district of corporate estates, WTC offices, and government mansions accessible only by guarded, magical funiculars. The "Lower Basin" is a tangled, smog-choked labyrinth of docks, tenements, and black markets where the rebels operate.

Iron Bash A highly militaristic, expansionist island nation located to the south across the water.

  • Global Perception: Most of the world views them as a loud, aggressive nuisance rather than a true superpower, mostly because they restrict their conquests to neighboring islands rather than mainland invasions.

  • The "Ancient Claim" (Idea for the invasion): The invasion isn't just strategic; it is framed as a "reclamation." The royal lineage of the Iron Bash Empress traces back to the ancient warlords who originally settled the CHH islands (perhaps referring to it as the "Iron Anvil"). She claims she is liberating her ancestral proving grounds from corrupt foreign merchants.

The Beccin Empire (Bec) A massive, USSR-inspired superpower located to the east, actively preparing for a global World War II scenario.

  • Borders: The Beccin borders are not strictly closed. There is active civilian and merchant travel between Bec and the Gildedn nation, which Beccin’s spies use as perfect cover to move assets.

  • Intelligence Hub: Their black-ops and intelligence divisions are not based in a forest, but rather the highly secure Ossuraian Fortress, located deep in their own territory.

  • The Strategy: They are secretly feeding the Iron Bash to turn them into a rabid naval ally. They need Iron Bash to control the western waters so Bec doesn't have to fight a two-front war when the global conflict erupts.

Wolgari Trading Company (WTC) An ultra-wealthy, corporate-state entity (modeled after the Dutch East India Company) based far to the west.

  • Status: They exist entirely outside the jurisdiction of both the Guilded Nations and the Beccin Empire. They answer only to profit.

  • Presence in CHH: Massive. The WTC essentially owns the skyline of the CHH capital. They are the financial anchor holding the CHH government together.

  • The Rebel View: The working-class rebels view Wolgari as the ultimate parasite. While the local CHH government are the oppressors, the rebels know that Wolgari money pays for the police. To Jamie's rebels, the WTC building isn't just a corporate office; it is the beating heart of their suffering and a prime target for a terrorist bombing.
